Description

Mediasite is a lecture capture tool available to anyone with an active Villanova account. Video recordings can be created through automated lecture capture using Hardware Recorders in select on-campus locations, the Mediasite Capture screen-recording tool, or by uploading external video files. Mediasite content can then be shared from your MyMediasite account to your LMS course page, embedded on a web page, or via a direct link.

Mediasite serves three critical functions here at Villanova:

Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC)

Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC) via Mediasite is available only upon the lead instructor's submitted request. The Hardware Recorder in the room will start and stop automatically based on the course schedule in Banner and will capture video, audio, and any computer output shown on the projector. After the recordings end, they’re automatically uploaded to the lead instructor's MyMediasite account. Learn more at Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC): Getting Started.

If a request has not been submitted to Multimedia Technologies using one of the two methods below, your session(s) will not be recorded:

To record an entire semester of on-ground lectures using Mediasite, the instructor designated as the "Primary" must submit a request at https://villanova.edu/recordmyclass
To record a one-off classroom lecture or event, please submit the appropriate request form in the right-hand navigation bar on the Mediasite service catalog page.

Mediasite Capture

Mediasite Capture is a web-based screen recording tool that allows users to record and upload a screen recording directly from their internet browser: no complicated application download or installation required.

Once you finish a recording, you can watch it, trim it, or completely re-record it before uploading it to MyMediasite. Users can create recordings from home, at the office, or on the go, in Display-only, Camera-only, or both modes.

MyMediasite

MyMediasite makes it easy for users to create, record, edit, share, download, and manage their Mediasite content. Users can also view presentation analytics (e.g., who watched your video) and engage with their audience through polls, Q&A forums, and basic quizzes.

Submit Event Recording Request

Please submit this form to request an event recording in an on-campus location. Please submit one form per event to ensure your request is accommodated. You will have options to include a livestream component, publish your recording to Mediasite or YouTube, and upload flyers or release forms.

Mediasite Single Lecture Recording

Please submit this form to request a single lecture classroom recording in an on-campus location. You will have the opportunity to choose your recording format and preset the viewing permissions for this recording.
