Description
Mediasite is a lecture capture tool available to all Villanova faculty, staff, and students. You can post Mediasite recordings on your LMS course page, embed them on a webpage, or share them through a direct link. You can also create recordings using Hardware Recorders in select on-campus locations, the Mediasite Mosaic screen recording application, or by uploading video files to your MyMediasite account.
Mediasite serves three critical functions here at Villanova:
Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC)
Automatic Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC) is available upon request by the instructor. The Hardware Recorder in the classroom starts and stops automatically based on the course schedule and can capture the video and audio feeds from the classroom, and any computer output shown on the projector. After the recordings end, they’re uploaded automatically to the instructor's MyMediasite account. Learn more at Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC): Getting Started.
Mediasite Mosaic
Mediasite Mosaic is a free application that lets users record presentations on Windows and macOS devices and upload them directly to their MyMediasite account. Users can create recordings consisting of Webcam and Screenshare (i.e., PowerPoint slides, a webpage portal), Webcam Only, or Screenshare Only.
MyMediasite
MyMediasite makes it easy for users to create, record, edit, share, download, and manage their Mediasite presentations. Users can also view presentation analytics and engage with their audience through polls, Q&A forums, and basic quizzes.
Audience
Anyone at Villanova with a Mediasite account can access the content on the platform. You need an account to view most content. To set up your Mediasite account, please follow our step-by-step guide: Mediasite: Create your MyMediasite Account
