Overview

What is it?

WeVideo is a cloud-based interactive media assessment platform that integrates with Mediasite, YouTube, Vimeo, and Brightspace, Villanova University's learning management system. It enables users to create, edit, collaborate on, and publish video content without the need to install any software. The platform operates entirely in a web browser or through the WeVideo mobile app, making it accessible on any device, whether it’s a Mac, Windows PC, Chromebook, or iOS, or Android. Additionally, WeVideo requires no local storage or processing power.

Through WeVideo's interactivity feature, users can layer interactive questions, polls, and discussions directly onto existing video content. The interactive videos you create in WeVideo are assignable through Brightspace, with automatic grade pass back and learner analytics.

Who is it for?

Faculty: Create, edit, collaborate on, and publish interactive video content using existing videos from Mediasite, YouTube, or Vimeo. Additionally, you can track student engagement and completion through built-in analytics. By assigning WeVideo interactive videos as graded assignments in Brightspace, you can facilitate automatic grade pass back.

Students: Complete interactive video activities assigned through your Villanova LMS course. No software download required.

  • Set up assignments through the LMS WeVideo link - not via direct WeVideo invitations. Grade passback and roster sync only function when students access WeVideo through the LMS course link. Direct WeVideo invitations bypass the LTI connection and break grade sync.
