PC Refresh Transition to NOVAdevice
Villanova is transitioning from the traditional, static PC Refresh Program to the NOVAdevice Refresh Program, a rolling refresh program that provides eligible faculty and staff with a more seamless and flexible device replacement experience. This lifecycle-based approach distributes upgrades throughout the year, helping ensure employees have secure, reliable, and up-to-date technology when they need it. This page will be updated as additional information about the transition becomes available.
Description
The NOVAdevice Refresh Program provides all eligible full-time faculty a staff a new computer on a lifecycle of no more than 5 years.
The program is intended to provide University employees with the proper device required to perform their work. If an faculty or staff requires two (or more) computers, their department is responsible for providing (and replacing) the secondary computer.
New employees (in existing positions) inherit the previous employee’s device in that position. The device will be wiped and reimaged for the new incoming employee. All University computers distributed through the NOVAdevice Refresh Program must be collected when the replacement computer is installed.
Displays (monitors), keyboards, mice, and any other peripherals are not part of the regular replacement cycle and must be replaced by the departments.
Standard Computer Specifications
Technology Services has developed computer standards to increase system reliability and compatibility and reduce support costs. Using standard hardware, operating systems, and applications increases security and reduce ownership and support costs.
